Childfirst Australia works in partnership with families and communities to support the safety, wellbeing, and development of children, while respecting the enduring connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to land, waters, and community.
Our Story: Experience Meets Purpose
Child First was founded by two industry professionals driven by a shared vision: to elevate the standard of care and assessments within the child welfare sector. With a combined 16 years of experience spanning Social Work, Family Services, the Disability Sector, Family Violence, and Statutory Child Protection, we have seen firsthand the complexities of children’s lives.
We recognized a critical gap in the industry for high-quality, rigorous Kinship and Foster Care assessments. To meet this need, we established a service rooted in clinical depth and forensic information analysis. The feedback from our partners has been clear: our assessments provide the clarity and detail necessary to make life-changing decisions for children.
Our work in child protection revealed another urgent need, ensuring children can safely maintain relationships following parental separation or family breakdown. This led to the launch of our Supervised Contact Service.
At Child First, we believe that a child’s right to maintain meaningful bonds should not be compromised by family transitions. We provide a neutral, secure, and supportive environment where those relationships can flourish under professional care.
